SHIN SPLINTS

Shin splints occur if there is too great a tension in the connective tissue around the muscles on the front of the shin. If these muscles are exercised, as in prolonged running or climbing stairs, especially in poor or heavy footwear, the muscle bulk increases and stretches the already tight connective tissue. This causes pain which may be constant or only during and immediately after exercise depending on the severity of the condition.Shin splints occur if there is too great a tension in the connective tissue around the muscles on the front of the shin. TREATMENT

Treatment with Connective Tissue Manipulation reduces the tension in the connective tissue and allows it to be more elastic and forgiving.
